I have had a look at the Wireless for the Warrior but can anyone reccommend a technical book on use of radios by land forces?

I am after not just hard data (sets used, ranges, frequencies) but anecdotal statements, something like practical difficulties encountered of, for example, foot signals troops using wireless, in an AFV under fire or as an artillery observer.

How about Osprey Elite 181 Battlefield Communications of WW2? Any good?
