That's a beautiful photo, love the faces. And I'll take a Pershing any day instead of a Panther.

Itdan - fantastischer Link! This is the best reconstruction I ever saw.

A couple of years ago I purchased the book "1945, Kriegsende in Köln", which also deals with this tank duel in detail. To my horror the writer of this book - Hermann Rheindorff - denied that the duel ever took place and labeled it a US propaganda movie. Since then I've banned the book to the lower dark and moisty areas of my bookcase. I only kept it for the photographs.

Hahaha...this waste of paper was the cause me and Dierk examined years ago in a now defunct forum anything about that incident .
Later Dierk made that website where he blamed the "author" for falsifiyng sources.... Rheindorff in turn made issues about copyright...the affair became personal for Dierk - and this is the result:
Dierk's page - Köln im Krieg, Panzerduell am Dom - Special 2 (1)
    Rheindorff....pfffhhh...such a bungler....

Fully agree ... he probably turned it into a controversial topic just for marketing purposes.
