Hi , im looking to gather information on a relative who served with the north Staffordshire 1st battalion in india between 1939-1943.

    what I know so far-
    Lance Corporal LONGSHAW, JAMES
    Service Number 3859444
    Died 10/04/1943
    Aged 25
    1st Bn.
    North Staffordshire Regiment
Son of William and Esther Longshaw, of Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire.

He is buried in Ranchi War Cemetery India Plot 1.E.6

Can anyone provide me any information of what he was doing in india, of how he may have possibly died, where I could get pictures or diary's ect.

    Thankyou.
