Does anyone have a list of places that 2 RHA were at in Africa and Italy?

They are 18/25 Pdrs in that IWM photo too.
You can tell by the shape of the breach block for starters.

    Cheers,

My plan is thus: If I can ID where he was in Africa and Italy I'll then search for pictures of landmarks during WW2 the he would remember.

    Sad news.

I heard yesterday that John passed away last week. He was never a man to talk about his war when I was in his company, he always played it down-very much along the lines of it was just something we had to do.

My everlasting memory of him will always be of him being a grumpy old man and the day we found common ground in my ambulance when I mentioned Dunkirk and I saw the fire light in his eyes for the first time. A few days later I gave him a few copies of my Dunkirk 'Then and Nows' and as he looked through the pictures comparing the Black and Whites of 1940 to colour photograhs of today I could see him tremble and his eyes well as it all came back to him. That was the day that he said thank you to me for the first time and from that moment on we never had a bad word to say about each other whenever we were in each others company.

    RIP John :poppy:
