"Go to first new post"

Thank you very much Adam In any case this is not really life threatening important, it would be nice if it worked as it should but of course there are more important things. Don't worry about it, I'm not biting my nails!

 

Something has changed & I dont like it.

What has changed for me is that the software is now not behaving in the same way as it did.

The new posts counter is still working correctly, but previously the board software (in effect) automatically assumed that once I logged out I'd read everything I wanted to and reset all the bolded thread titles to ordinary text. As of yesterday it doesn't.

When I clicked on the new posts link, it offered me all the threads which had been updated since I clicked "mark forums read" yesterday and near the end a message that "The threads below have not been updated since your last visit but still contain unread posts."

I'm sure there was a setting within vBulletin User CP to "automatically mark all threads read on exit" - which is what it used to do for me until yesterday - but I'm damned if I can find it! It certainly happens for me on another vBulletin forum I frequent, which uses version 4.0.3, although I can't find the option in my control panel there either, so maybe it could be a saved option from an earlier version which was never overwritten or removed as it was already in my profile? In which case - what did you do to break it? :p

 

I am also getting one where when I click on 'New Posts' - it doesn't just give me since last visit, it gives me the last 20 pages worth. This has happened on two different machines on two different connections.
