    Hmmmmm.
I like the cut of your tweed, sir.
Skinning up as soon as I understand how, and you may be onto something.

Glad you're all finding your way, chaps - this will be good I suspect. C21st rather than C20th.

Looking great VP! Thanks to everyone for their hard work.

One niggly thing, my signature pic doesn't show...can't find where to edit my signature either but neither are too important right now, just FYI

    Cheers

After getting a tad exasperated at my failure to delete an article posted on the wrong thread I contacted my usual friendly Mod for help.

I have now been told that I cannot delete my own post....apparently. only Moderators can do this.

I think I understand why such an option is now considered necessary. (in the past I too have been annoyed and perplexed when members have seen fit to delete posts en masse and thus destroyed any sense in a thread) but I confess to finding the new restriction irksome.

Any chance of re-considering this option ?

    Ron

    ps
A link on the Front Page to this thread would also be appreciated.

Normal members couldn't/can't delete posts, Ron. Think I gave veterans the ability a while back, but decided not to reinstate that power as under the new system deleting first posts in a thread can take the entire thread with it.
The full time-unlimited edit function's still there (something most forums don't allow but is kind of essential here given the way people add info to some threads) - just blank out or add a 'please delete'; that way any proper cock-ups that may ensue can be down to us.

    A

Thanks for taking the time to clarify the matter.

I thought that I remembered being able to delete a post and it is good for my memory/self esteem to know that in this particular case I was right :)
