    Hi all,

I am at Library and Archives Canada and just had a look in a file whose description said SOMETHING about 17 pounder.

What it had were blueprints for the Canadian design of 17 pounder ammunition!

This has popped some questions into my head, like when was that developed, did it reach the front, and was it supplied only to Canadian troops? To First Canadian Army? (Which at times included other divisions, on a short or long term basis.)

I believe the Chieftain mentions this in one or more of his talks. As I recall he said that the Canadian sabot was not issued until several years after the war, initially to Canadian and then to British troops. It offered improved accuracy over the WWII sabot.
