    Hi everyone

i have been trying research my late grandads unit. 353 company RASC , i know that he served from 1942 to 1946, and landed in algiers and went through to tunis and monte casino and ended the war in rome

he also told me that he was stationed in an american camp in algiers.

any info or areas that you can point me to will be brilliant. unfortunatly i dont have any pictures just his medal ribbon and his service book.

    thanks very much

    Welcome to the forum,
I've just searched the National Archives catalogue, there are a few war diaries for 353 Coy of the RASC.
Try & visit there & have a look at them would be my best advice

Hi Buzz and welcome to the forum.

The units diaries are probably your best bet as Owen has already mentioned.

    Good Luck

There is a thread on here somewhere that has some tips when visiting Kew for the first time. I think the key is take a camera and photograph the pages so you can view them later.
