Hi! Brand new user; apologies if this is the wrong place to ask.

My dad is trying to find out the details of a V1 bomb that nearly killed him during WW2. He would have been about 3 or 4 at the time (he was born February 1940).

He was on a bus that was on or by the Wanstead Flats, possibly Lake House Road, or Aldersbrook Road? He remembers the bus stopping, and him looking out of the window and seeing the bus driver and conductor running away. Next thing he is on the ground with someone laying on top of him, who had shielded him from glass.

He further added the the house(s) hit had three storeys, like the ones around them that were not destroyed. When they rebuilt the building(s) they were much smaller.

I appreciate there isn't a lot here to go on, but I am hoping that there is a list of V1 bomb sites, and it might include the location. I know of a V1 landing on Dames Road, but as that was on a pub rather than houses, I'm not 100% convinced it's the one, even though it is the right area.

Any help will be gratefully appreciated.
