Hi everyone. I have started flicking through my old copy of george fortys, russian army hand book ww2. I see that the Russians utilised SMG companies in infantry regiments, now these companies are 100 strong at full strength and all are armed with SMGs, so let's break this down. 100 all ranks. 3 x platoons (30 + 2 for PHQ) Total 96. Company HQ, 4 x all ranks? 100 in total. Am I far off with this number? Thanks for any input. Ian
Slightly different - Coy HQ 7 Three Pls, each 31 Pl HQ 1 officer Three Secs, each 10 Coy HQ was 2 officers, political officer, Starshina and 2 runners, plus a medic as I recall (would need to check). Gary
