    Hi, new to the forum.

I'm researching Bridlington Cenotaph & have a couple of Royal Engineers who are buried in the UK. I'm curious if anyone can give me any further info beyond what I've gleaned from the CWGC.

Allbut is recorded on The Times Roll of Honour as "died" rather than "killed", so perhaps an accident or natural causes?

Greetings welcome to the forum, my I suggest you look at the local libaray archives and the local paper if they came from Brid then there will be a piece especially if they had a local burial with military honours.
Also check with the local history society they may have some knowledge or documents left to them.

Thanks for the advice. I've already been through the micro films of the Brid Free Press as well as making an appeal through the paper for anyone who had any information or interest. I've found out a lot about others on my list but unfortunately with these two they either weren't mentioned or the obituary made no reference of cause of death.

    Cheers

Whilst re-scanning my list another query springs to mind:

Cpl John Linsley 936824 Royal Engineers 97 Bomb Disposal Section
    Casualty

My research suggests he died in London, on the day following the first major Luftwaffe raid on the city.

Any further info on 97 Bomb Disposal Section generally or Linsley in particular would be great

    Thanks
