Hello - would anyone be able to point me in the right direction? I am trying to locate details of the initial assembly areas in Normandy to which units navigated in order to rendezvous, having landed on the beaches. Specifically, I'm looking to pin down an assembly area that I believe was near Colombiers-sur-Seulles. My grandfather (serving with 119 Battery, 75 A/Tk Regt) had a chance meeting with his brother (serving with B Sqn, 2 Derby Yeomanry) on or around 14 June 1944. Having landed on different days, they ended up in the same assembly area. The info in the war diaries lead me to the Colombiers vicinity, but isn't specific about the location - particularly for 75 A/Tk Regt. I would love to be able to pin down the field in which they met. Units were clearly given a grid reference for their rendezvous points, and the assembly areas will have been carefully planned in advance, so am sure this information must exist somewhere. I'm just not sure how to find it! Would anybody be able to offer any advice on how to nail this down more precisely? Best wishes, Mike
