I have been informed on a different thread that a man I am researching was reported as taken prisoner on 1st October 1942. He went on to die in Italy a few months later. So I'm making the assumption that he was captured in N.Africa c.August/September 1942. Would anyone therefore be able to provide me with an indication of how 2nd Battery, 1st Lt AA Regiment fitted into the OOB and/or an indication of the action(s) in which 'my' man may have been made prisoner? Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Hi, I would assume he was taken prisoner during the battle of Alam Halfa, what was his actual date of death? Cheers MF
I now know that 42nd Light AA Regiment were attached as Divisional troops to 1st Armoured Division on 23 October 1942. How can I find out who 1st Light AA Reg't were attached to?

Geoff - that's absolutely brilliant! I trawled page after page of google returns and didn't stumble upon that one. Thanks very much. images/smilies/default/biggrin.gif
