In the forests north of Berlin, today you will find Joseph Goebbels House standing there like it was 1941. It is the last remaining home of one of the Third Reich's most powerful men. It's a strange feeling visiting the house as it is rather like a time warp. The house is empty, but it is owned and maintained by the Berlin Government. They are trying to sell the house and the area around around it but as you can imagine they are very fussy on who they sell it too. We recently filmed one of our vlogs there. Just getting to it in the snow was a real adventure. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1il8IkoSuuk Whilst in Berlin, we also made some other videos which I will link to below just in case you are interested. Found this in Daily Mirror dated Saturday September 30th 1939. Not been able to find it mentioned on the web,so don't know what it's all about.
Ross, Thanks for the post and links. I once took the car to Görings house and had an interesting time looking around the foundations and garden. Interesting to note that the guards house is still occupied and the owner came out and spoke to me. By the stone entrance there are still the Field Martial Batons carved on the columns. Regards Tom
Hi Tom. Another place I would like to visit. From what I understand, it is not actually very far from Goebbels House. Is this correct?
Ross, Enjoyed your historical journey.I'm surprised that the Goebbels rural retreat Bogensee survived the Russian./DDR era. I notice that the Goebbels house did not show any connection with hunting, the reason being that Goebbels did not follow the likes of Goering in the pursuit of game......it seems he preferred to follow his master, Hitler who had no interest in hunting.
Ross, Never visited Goebbels house but here is a wiki link for the house grounds of Görings. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carinhall#/search About 1hr 15mins from Brandenburg gate. Regards Tom
