Apparently soldiers picked up out of the water/evacuated at dunkirk were then interned in camps upon arrival in the UK.(for id purposes because im told they feared german spies)
Was this the case for EVERYONE evacuated from dunkirk or only for the French soldiers?
Would a British soldier also have been interned in one of these camps ,even if capable to give all his military data/info (regiment, name of commanding officer ,# etc..) ?

I am not aware of British soldiers being so interned, but then as you say they could have given a lot more verifiable information.

I would say that the majority of French troops were not interned either.

Britain obviously had a system for vetting people coming into the country.

Never heard of any BEF being interned.

Virtually all the French soldiers evacuated under Operation Dynamo were sent back to France within 24 to 36 hours. Although the BEF had left France, France was still fighting the Germans well into June.

The only real exception to the rule was the French wounded so there was no need to intern them.
