Does anyone have a copy of the printed battalion history of this unit?

If so, can you drop me a PM please.

Hello, I am new to this site.

I am researching the activities of the 5th Wilts in Belgium, Holland up to crossing of the Rhine and the capture of Bremen. February, March, April 1945.

Is this period covered in the Battalion History and if so are you or anyone else able to direct me to a copy.

    Many thanks,

    Julia C

Sorry for jumping onto a thread, but I’ve just had a service record through (5th wilts) and I’m wondering what this qualification is, wondering if anyone has seen it before?

Yeah I thought that on a re read - just wondering why it was obtained whilst he was serving

    Stu,

Could it be an official recognition of his skill after there was a need for it? Notably being a POW or on active service he used the skill to repair boots etc.

Yeah it’s possible, he wasn’t a POW in the end but maybe it was just something that was useful and contributed at the barracks
