KIng Arthur I too find aetheists interesting as they appear to be all dressed up - with nowhere to go... Cheers Hawkins cant move far physically, he's badly crippled. However he has wonderfull lucid freethinking mind. A futuristic mind, he will not stick on fairy tales. The great Einstein was just the same. Albert Einstein "I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religion than it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it." "I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotism." "I do not believe in the immortality of the individual, and I consider ethics to be an exclusively human concern with no superhuman authority behind it." "If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for a reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed." -Albert Einstein, German-born American physicist wonderfulatheistsofcfl.org
Oh dear I think Tom will have you for burnt for heresy Our masochist faction would enjoy that, there are always winners,ha ha
Jeff- you may be perfectly correct in that I have missed your point in assuming that you were countering my disdain of American Generals and their factual mis-deeds and if that is so then I must truly apologise - as for my malice against ALL Americans - you have surely missed MY point - and can only put this down to your mis- understanding of my use of the English language - so again I would apologise. However I do take exception to your finding my facts on Collins as being erroneous - ..... I am not a malicious person and reject your characterisation of me- as I have great respect for you and your voluntary efforts in fighting fires... Cheers I'm not done here. I am in the midst of an extended weekend, that started Thursday night and will go through Monday. There is a holiday here this weekend. Southern by the Grace of God, what God?ha,ha I don't ridicule you*, perhaps you could take the same tack. By the lord Harry. Has this thread not rambled off subject enough? Monty! Viscount Bernard! Please! Hang in there, Adam. This, too, shall pass. *Even considering your Vogon-inspired verses.

But this chappie did. Hitler was a Christian.Read on, scroll down Your edit is a bit childish jobee. Hitler was also vegetarian. And Hitler didn't smoke. And was against vivisection. So what? Apart from that, keep one thing in mind: The German population in the Third Reich was largely Christian. A rise to power would have been difficult had the Natsies forbidden Christian religion. Himmler once said (along those lines) that he didn't want "his" men of the SS to be godless (which is, of course, not equal to Christian) because it's much easier to lead a man who accepts higher authority and that also makes him accept a Führer (in this case aforementioned Hitler) more easily. In short, bringing up Wehrmacht belt buckle et al. as proof how Christian Hitler was isn't all too valid.

Well done, you just violated Godwins law. Discussion over. Von Poop will be pleased. Truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth. Its good, its clean, its healthy. The search goes on. Its safer that way. This man was a Christian, he was a lot better than some Popes, but he was disgusting. Hitler was a Christian. Truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth. Its good, its clean, its healthy. The search goes on. Its safer that way. You come here to post Poetry and hijack a thread (and yes thats what you did) to try to impose your beliefs on everyone else. I dont care whether you like religion or not, I dont care whether you are right or not, I do care that you are being self-righteous with other members and no, its not that you are right and they are wrong, you are just being plain disrespectful. Please take into account that there are people from all walks of life with different views. This is not an atheist forum, nor is it a religious forum. Please remember this.
Monty's visit to Vimy ridge, rather interesting as whilst fighting one war he's remembering the dead of an earlier one. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/war-cemeteries-war-memorial-research/13759-montys-visit-vimy-ridge.html
