"A" and "B" at Strukdorf and "C" at Niendorf. A period of waiting. Frequent change of orders, disappointing to those whose one aim was to get to Husum as quickly as possible. VE night was celebrated by the lighting of bonfires and a display of Verey lights and Mortar flares. A certain amount of Stolzenhau Hock was consumed.

Move to Husum via Neumunster and Rendsburg. 8th RB now divorced and left behind. The Regiment spent the night on the outskirts while the harbour parties allotted accommodation.

It was the Owner of the Building cocerning Strukdorf. 85 years old and he remembers evrything well in 1945.What happened when the 8th moved into hes House etc. He wrote a Chronicle about Strukdorf befor. in. and after the War.Mentioned, that the Soldiers of the 8th where very good behavure and always after our chicken and Eggs. They alway payed for every<thing Eggs , Milk etc. He also remembers the big Party onthe 8th of May War ende, lot of Beer , Music sind´ging and so. He was very happy to see the Photos. The german Poeple had to handover all there Watches and Cameras, what a pitty, perhaps we could see some Photos made by Germans of the (th. best regards Heinz
