Presumably Cornwall wasn't part of Britain, didn't have allied airforces on its airfields or didn't play any part in D-Day! Which is a wrong presumption on all 3 counts.
Apart from that I like the idea of the resource!

Can you give me more information so I check it out and correct the chart? I’m not from England so I wouldn’t know which airfields are in Cornwall and which are not, so I really would appreciate your help in any corrections you can give me.

    Thank you

Here's a few details to get your teeth into:

RAF Davidstow - 144 Sqn, 404 Sqn, 524 Sqn operating as 154 GR Wing.

    RAF Perranporth - 816 Sqn, 849 Sqn, 850 Sqn plus Free French Sqns 145, 329 and 341.

RAF Portreath - 235 Sqn, 248 Sqn operating as 153 GR Wing. On D-Day 248 Sqn mounted 5 separate missions!

RAF Predannack - 1 Sqn, 165 Sqn operating as a Spitfire IX Wing - covered the Force B Convoy from Cornish embarkation hards, 179 Sqn, 311 Sqn.

    RAF St Eval - 53 Sqn, 206 Sqn, 224 Sqn, 547 Sqn.

RAF St Mawgan - used mainly by USAAF with 24 Sqn, 271 Sqn, Transport Command and BOAC.

The skies above Cornwall were very busy in May/June 1944.
Hope that helps. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for this. I’ll amend the document now, and post it up as an Amendment.
