Anyone recommend a good book about with accounts of a bomber crew (lancaster preferably) during ww2?

    Thanks

Any Martin Middlebrook raid books. Also look out for Martin Bowman.

If you want a good read from the American side, then I can recommend Combat Crew by John Comer. It's a superb first hand account.

'Enemy Coast Ahead' by Guy Gibson VC. You don't get more Lancastery than that! Several copies always available on eBay for a cheap read.

Some great recommendations by the looks of it......finished one I had on the shelf for a while 'the fly by nights' by Donald W. Feesey.

I loved Deighton's Bomber, but for non-fiction, you can try 'Ghosts of Targets Past', by Philip Gray. I met Philip here is Toronto, and he died last week.

I can also recommend very highly "A Thousand Shall Fall" by Stirling pilot Murray Peden. You'll laugh and cry.
