I. G.) contact marks, nearly very fine or better (3) £300-400 Footnote Provenance: DNW, April 2003. M.I.D. London Gazette 7 January 1949: ‘In recognition of gallant and distinguished services in Palestine during the period 27th September, 1947 - 26th March, 1948.’ Stanley William Hardy was born in Liverpool, in July 1926. He enlisted for the 1st Battalion, Irish Guards, 8 May 1944. Hardy was posted to Holding Operational Commando, 16 August - 19 September 1945. He was M.I.D. for services as a Bren Gun Carrier Driver with the 1st Battalion in Palestine. Hardy died in Warrington, in October 1999. Sold with copied research.
