Photo of a Wireless A Mk3 in my collection. This has been professionally modified - all "new" components are Australian. One key difference is the pull/push switch: Original Set powered - "Mains" or "Battery" This set powered - "Generator" or "Battery" Added to this the mains power selection board has been removed. I know the Australians parachuted the WS A Mk3 with the Alco Sirius Steam generator for SOE (SOA?) operations, so is it likely that this modified set was modified for such a purpose working on the assumption that Mains Electric wasnt very likely in the middle of the jungle.
