Anyone tried this game? "Wings of Prey is based around the large-scale aerial combat and ground military operations of World War II. Players can participate in some of the war’s most famous battles piloting fighters, battle planes and bombers across a range of thrilling missions. There are six theatres of war to engage in – The Battle of Britain, Stalingrad, Ardennes, Berlin, Sicily and Korsun' representing the main airborne battles of World War II in Europe." Looks pretty good from the trailer. I'm downloading the demo from Steam just now. Trailer: YouTube - Wings of Prey - Launch Trailer HD Jakob
IL2 engine? Milking it! Looks great..... either that or they have made it a liitle bit more user friendly... Kev
Just played the demo and it is a lot of fun! The mission in the demo is to defend Dover. To my surprise my Geforce 7950 had no problem running the game, which is a bad thing, because now I'll have to spend money on this game! I reckon it would be a lot easier to play with some sort of flight simulator joystick though. Jakob
1C-Company's last IL-2 game was "Birds of Prey" it was develloped by Gaijin instead of Maddox Games who did the first few Allegedly Birds of Prey was only XBox, PS3 and DS (???!!!) so I am not sure if "Wings of Prey" is some sort of port of the Xbox 360 IL-2 Sturmovik | Birds of Prey - 505 games Madox's next one with a whole new engine is a Battle of Britain game IL-2 Sturmovik creators working on Battle of Britain game They have been working on it for over five years now.
I'm getting excited about Storm of War, here is a clip from one its Spitfire cockpits. Awesome graphics for a PC. I think SOW is worth the wait. YouTube - spitfire.avi
Oh that looks good... I might even build a head tracking thing so I can look around while flying. I always found using the keyboard to look around really difficult FreeTrack Online
Hello chaps... I played the demo, but didn't really get the best out of it because I didn't have a compatible flight stick (and had to resort to playing using a mouse!!!)... * Click on picture to super-size * But, even so I was overawed with the superb graphics - and I have to say it was a really nice change to have so many Soviet aircraft represented in a WW2 game (it is a Russian developed game after all). The two demo mission were one Battle of Britain based mission and one Soviet one over Berlin! The Berlin mission was stunning, and very enjoyable, and the aircraft models were very nice as well. * Click on picture to super-size * ...Here I fly at roof top level seeking out hidden German ground targets in my Lavochkin La-7. The cityscape was quite believable and damage from flack and defending fighters was quite dramatic. In short, the demo impressed me so much I am buying a suitable joy stick just to play this game. It's not 'hard core' so is easy enough for the casual combat flight jockey to get into, but has enough detail and accuracy for more advanced simmers to get some pleasure out of it... * Click on picture to super-size * All screenshots were taken using FRAP and represent sequences from my actual game play.
