    Hi,

    17 Sep 1930

"Sheikh Mahmud crossed into southern Kurdistan from Persia and triggered another uprising in Iraq.

Over the next three months there were constant periods of action and skirmishes.

Aircraft of Nos 30, 55 and 70 Squadrons mounted air attacks and troop reinforcement flights.

    RAF armoured cars supported them.

By the end of December, the RAF had flown 1,496 hours in support of Iraqi Army operations."

    Regards, Mick D.
