Lol about my grandad possibly hitting someone in the Redcaps,i can believe that as he had quite a short temper!!
I knew he was wounded in Burma but thought it was through strapnel,i didnt realise it was a gun shot wound.
Thankyou for noticing he was with 1 RWF,id totaly looked over it (find it very, very hard to read what it says on his record in places).
The other information that comes with the stuff i posted was on A3 size paper so i cant scan it on but my mum is going to reduce it to A4 size for me then i will scan it on.
Shes also got a picture of him with his regiment & one of him with a little Indian boy.So i will scan them on when i get a chance.
So does anyone know wher 1 RWF went in India/Burma or how i can find out as i cant read half of what it says on his service record, lol.
Thanks for all the help youv given me so far!

Only me gain, lol.Iv managed to find out that he was in the 6th Brigade,2nd Division. Can anyone point me in the right direction for finding out which corps he was in.The battles of Imphal,Mandalay & Rangoon have the 4th & 33rd corps in common,so i believe he must of been in one of these (& perhaps in the 14th army in the battle of mandalay).Any help is greatly apprechiated!
    Thanks.

I suggest you start a thread asking about 1 RWF in Burma, I think some of your queries are now getting missed by people who could help if they saw a different subject title.

EDIT: No worries I altered thread title slighty.
    Hope that OK?
