Can anyone decode the following for me please:

Capt E B Faulkner 186352 transferred to HQ W.O W/T Station M SU Forest Moor on the 12.11.43

I guess W.O means he was a Headquarters Wireless Officer at Forest Moor 'Y' Station but what is the full description?

Any help appreciated - thank you

Correction - there's some useful content there:

Housing staff from the Royal Signals and Female Auxiliary Territorial Service, it was used during the war as a Y-station, for the covert interception of foreign radio signals. Forest Moor formed part of a network of Y-sites around Britain used to gather data for intelligence purposes. The station was gradually wound down after the war and was decommissioned by 1948.

And there's some labelled maps on the final two pages that look promising.

Thank you Charley I shall see if I can find a copy of the 1956 OS map.

I have been asking around for an explanation of the abbreviations for some time and at last I have it. So pleased.

Is there a war time photograph of the buildings or personnel anywhere? Not found one yet.

    thanks again

I am looking for information on the Trial Radio Network that was set up with 5 ATS around Tunbridge in 1940. The forerunner to the SPECIAL DUTIES BRANCH in Auxiliary Units.
