I have read that during the Second Sino-Japanese War, National Revolutinary Army units were supplied and trained by German advisors. The Sino-Japanese war took place from 1937 to 1945. Im curious about what the situtation was like with Japan being allied with Nazi Germany during WWII. I do not have much knowledge of the topic and have to say im slightly confused. To what degree did Nazi Germany assist Nationalist China? Thanks

Nazi Germany provided significant assistance to China in the mid to late 1930s, primarily in the area of training and equipment. A number of Chinese divisions were trained by German advisers, and Chiang Kai-shek considered them his best. Germany also provided a number of small arms, artillery pieces (including 88mm AA guns) and even a few tanks (like Mark Is).

As Germany and Japan drew closer together, diplomatically, the German military mission to China became less and less desirable and finally it was withdrawn.
