Right chaps, bit of help please.

Yesterday saw a friend of mine who showed me photographs of his grandfathers from both sides of the family, both studio shots. One appeared to about WW1 period and cap badge appeared to be Royal Artillery, but as I didnt have me glasses thats to be confirmed.
Other was in a kilt but had a plume in his headgear.

He also showed me some medals and this is the quanday, they were not in that good condition but were named to same person, as far as I can recall (well we did drink two bottles of wine!)
There was a medal India with a clasp Afghanistan 1919 then a Territorial Medal, with the same name and numbr on it. The one of the WW1 medals with same name but different number, and also another Territorial medal, again with same name and number.
The regiment appears to have been Royal West Kents
There was also an Africa medal, but totally different name so that has to be looked at again!

    Anyway the questions
    1) Would the West Kents wear a plume on headgear and a kilt
    2) can anybody explain the medal scenario? Is he a rejoin as it were?

    Thanks

    Andy
