Is that a child on the stretcher? With an armed soldier watching them?

If so that would suggest a Japanese occupied location, where Japanese civilians lived or Japanese national territory.

 

Honestly I couldn’t tell. At first glimpse it does look like a kid. But it also looks way too thin. But then again maybe he was really thin. I’m unsure

 

There were Japanese civilians, including children, captured on the final islands of the campaign.
