    Afternoon,

Hopefully I've put this in the right place? There doesn't appear to be an old photos section in the forum, which is a shame.

Anyway, I run a company called Photo Restoration, Repair, Retouching, Manipulation at Red Rose Photos who specialise in photo editing. Having recently resored a number of world war 2 photos for a retired naval officer I thought it a good idea to offer my services on this forum. Restoration of old photos is my passion but being fortunate enough to work on photos from such a defining era is something I find fascinating so if anyone has any old photos they would like restoring please visit us at the website. If you quote this forum in your enquiry I'll make sure we offer a favourable discount as well.

    Kind Regards

And excellent work you do as well Rog.

    Thanks for that Rog,

As I am a professional I won't post on your post advertising my services then. Even though you seem happy to do it on mine.

Shame really. Especially on a forum that discusses a time when professionalism and courtesy were in abundance. Clearly making money is more important to you that you feel the need to post your business on someone elses post. I'm sure your work is professional and people will be happy with the service you provide but giving people that choice is the point here. Like I say, out of courtesy I will not post on your thread because it's unprofessional on a forum where we're here to assit those who want to restore precious images. They don't want to read about people touting for business.

Like I say, I have recently been working on a rather large project for a naval officer involved in World War 2. Some of the images provided were nothing short of epic and it was a real privilege to work on them. If anyone wishes to take up our services at a favourable discount then contact us at.

    Photo restoration

    Kind regards

Hey I was merely pointing out that such a section on the forum exists.

Brent you come across as agressive. It's not to your credit and shows up the type of person i'm really talking to. If you read the thread i linked to you'll see that i offer my work for free here. You are the one that is 'touting for business'.

Brent, you are not a professional, you're a chancer. You're the brigade that thinks anyone with PhotoShop can do it.

Your work is that of a beginner and you simply aren't in my league. Go and read some books by Ctein and Katrin Eismann and then come back.

The large amount of work i have done for the many satisfied people on this forum shows who the professional really is.

    Dear oh dear,

quite why anyone would want to use such a vindictive service as yours I do not know?

How you can comment on our service when you've never used it is beyond me. I wouldn't comment on yours, I'm sure you offer a good one like the great many other photo restoration websites out there. And like I say, I wouldn't comment on your post because it's unprofessional to do so.

Thanks for you comments on my post though. Clearly you're such a bitter and twisted individual that you fail to understand the terms of business and competition.

To be so confrontational, unprofessional and vindictive when a guest on a forum about the war is disgusting in my opinion. We've done plenty of restoration work from the war and like many people on this forum, I lost family in the war so have as much right as anyone to post on here. So show some respect to me, the forum users and yourself.

    Evening,

this is exactly what I'm looking for and having viewed both websites I can see that you both take pride in what you do and I'd be happy to use either of you.

RCW I don't think the below sheds you in a good light as an individual though.

A business is about image and likeability and belittling someone like that is not an admirable trait. On a forum like this discussing the topic subject it was set up for, people who belittle others won't make themselves very popular.

However, I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt - sorry Brent - on the basis that you offer your services for free.

I'm left to wonder what part of a Moderator's instructions to "move on" was not fully understood.

    No offence taken RBennett,

ultimately we have a real passion for this type of work and would love to assist people in restoring their special photos. Having looked over Rog's site I can see he clearly feels the same.

    All the best

P.S. And being as this is a World War 2 forum, for those that are interested the photo restored on our restoration page is actually a picture of my grandma taken 70 years ago during the war.

    Dear erding,

Red Rose has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - Old Photos Restoration - in the Photo Restoration forum of World War 2 Talk.

    I agree,

as a new member this is exactly what I'm looking for and having looked over both websites it's clear you both take care and pride in what you do.

I'll be sending my enquiry over to Roger because he's offering to do the work for free but I hope you two can resolve your differences because there's plenty of room for both of you on here and disrespecting another's business doesn't shed your business in a good light Roger.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though and send my enquiry over shortly if that's ok?

    Yours

    R Bennett

The time of 6 August 2012 19:57:31 is consistent with the time Red Roses made post no 9. It is remarkable that the name R Bennet appears in this advice email.

Yet post 9 now only has 'I agree'

Remarkably, some 40 minutes later, at 08:37 pm a R Bennet - a 1st time poster - posts in this thread, post 10. The text of that post is remarkably similar to the text in the above mail and no longer included in red roses post 9.

What a remarkable series of coincidences!

As the above subscription advice email originates from this forum the moderators are easily to verify its authenticity.

This has now degenerated into an embarrassing farce and a discredit to this forum members.

What part of the above quote do you guys not understand?

Let's get this thread closed and get on with with more important things like helping each other and discussing ww2 -not harping on about who is better than the other restoring old photos.

Don't worry lads, I've asked that the thread be removed completely.

This was only put up to offer a service and hopefully expand my passion of working on photos from an era I have a deep interest in.

In relation to the RBennett posts, clearly it is for the benefit of Rog and his business anyway so I fail to see the issue.

  17. Have to say that this thread made me chuckle.
