Others may have already posted this but for the full 50 volumes of the 2NZEF all available on line go to
    http://www.nzetc.org/projects/wh2/index.html
It has the lot free to read and has probably devalued my entire book collection of the same.
A great help for anyone wishing to learn about the Kiwis war effort.

Thanks for that - I had noticed last year that some were on-line, but not all.

I don't think it has devalued your books: there is nothing like owning the original!

You know, I have 30 volumes of the series, which I painstakingly accumulated over the last nine years, at some expense. Now all 50 are on the web, which makes me feel like a bloody fool! :) On the other hand, I've had my battalion histories autographed by veterans at their reunions, which cannot be done on a computer page. It's actually very depressing in some ways. On the other hand, Divisional Cavalry is almost impossible to find, so now I simply call up the page on the web, set up my printer...and bombs away!

I have found out the books are just as valuable some even more so. Sorry Kiwiwriter but I am looking at my copy of Div Cav right now. Did you know that in the late 60s or early 70s the Govt Print had thousands of volumes sitting in their building free to whomever wanted them. Dad got several different volumes of his unit and battles places etc he was in and a copy of 27th Machinegun Battalion which mentions his brother several times. Also my wifes father is mentioned in 28th Maori Battalion which is probably the rarest now. Also I used to work on a farm Robin Kay owned and he wrote several histories. He is still alive but rather frail.
    All the best.

Well, I envy you having Div Cav in hand, and I'm nauseated to hear the NZ government was giving those bad boys away. I have 29 of the volumes. I'm missing 25th Battalion, RMT, Engineers, Medical Services, Chaplains, Div Cav, Div Signals, Petrol Company, Alam Halfa and Alamein, War Economy, Political and External Affairs, and the two Home Front volumes (that I know of offhand). I have 18th Battalion, 19th Battalion, 20th Battalion (signed by its members and author Bill Glue), 21st Battalion (signed by members), 22nd Battalion (signed by members), 23rd Battalion (signed by members), 24th Battalion, 26th Battalion, 27th Battalion (signed by members), 28th Battalion, Divisional Artillery, Supply Company, Journey Toward Christmas, Division Artillery, RNZN, RNZAF, New Zealanders in the RAF 1, New Zealanders in the RAF 2, New Zealanders in the RAF 3, Prisoners of War, and War Surgery and Medicine (with gruesome photos), To Greece, Crete, Relief of Tobruk, Battle for Egypt, Bardia to Enfidaville, Italy: I, Italy: II, Problems of 2nd NZEF, The Pacific, and Documents: 1. Whew. I doubt that I can afford Div Cav or Alamein, but I hope to get some of the others.

Keep searching Trade Me NZ or Abe Books. Trade me sometimes offers up a bargin but people are starting to realise their value. I truely do not mean to boast but at a school fairs booksale I picked up Relief of Tobruk and Problems of 2 NZEF for $10 the pair. On the other hand I lent my copy of The Maori Battalion to one of the wifes relations and never saw it again. It cost me $450 to replace, and that was regarded as cheap. Let me know what sort of money you are willing to spend and I could try and help you out as there are copies on sale in a bookshop just near me.

My answer to your gracious offer is just tell me what the prices are and what volumes they have. Thank you very much.
