New CWGC Commemorations 3rd December 2010

    CWGC added the following casualties to the Debt of Honour today.

    Gnr James McBLAIN
    19092021 Royal Artillery
    Died 17.08.47 Age 19
    Commemoration: Brookwood Memorial, Surrey, UK

    Pte Edward Archibald TELFER
    10546535 Royal Army Ordnance Corps
    Died 26.08.44 Age 33
    Commemoration: Cassino Memorial, Italy

    NOT FORGOTTEN

    These were In From The Cold Project cases.

    Gnr McBlain accidentally drowned in Germany (Volunteer: Diane Shakespeare)
    Pte Telfer died in action (Volunteer: Bernie Barton)

    Added o the Roll of Honour last week:

    75229217 Major E.A.W.Maude
    Originally North Irish Horse
    Later Tank Corps

    15 March 1919. While sailing his yawl 'Fiona' he and a fellow passenger were drowned when she sank of the coast of Northern Ireland. No trace of her or the bodies was found.

    CWGC plan to add his name to the memorial in Brookwood Cemetery, Surrey.

    Just one more WW I casualty to go.

    Im quite aware of his commemoration. My job for WW2 talk is just to report the WW2 casualties that have been reported. The Great War casualites are for other forums.
