New CWGC Commemorations 27th June 2020

    CWGC added the following casualties to the WW2 Civilian War Dead Roll today.

    CLARKE, Ernest Clifford Smith
    Died 31.05.41 Age 12
    Reporting Authority: Newcastle-upon-Tyne, County Borough

    EASEY, Edward William
    Died 12.06.42 Age 10
    Reporting Authority: Grimsby, Rural District

    PAGE, Irene
    Died 31.05.41 Age 7
    Reporting Authority: Newcastle-upon-Tyne, County Borough

    QUARTERMAIN, Richard George
    Died 13.11.45 Age: One Month
    Reporting Authority: Banbury, Rural District

    SCOTT, Sir Arthur Binnie KCB DSO
    Major General
    Died 02.07.44 Age 82
    Reporting Authority: Amersham, Rural District

    - Ernest Clarke died of asphyxiation while attempting to rescue Irene Page from bomb crater
    - Edward Easey died after wandering into a minefield causing an explosion (Volunteer: Tony Emptage)
    - Irene Page died of asphyxiation after falling into bomb crater
    - Richard Quartermain was killed when RAF Mosquito crashed into house
    - Sir Arthur Scott was killed when a flying bomb struck his house
