    Afternoon, chaps.
Otto's planning to have a proper go at whatever's causing the slowdown tonight at '8PM CST'.
To the best of my ability, being once again astonished that the whole world doesn't use the only true time zone that is GMT, I think that's about 2AM.

    It might take a while.
Possibly more than 24hrs, as a full slow backup will be involved, so consider this fair warning.

    Fingers crossed,
    ~A

Ok, I checked. More like 1AM GMT.
Genuinely surprised I even got close though... Ho hum.

Thanks Adam and Otto. All efforts sincerely appreciated. Can't say we weren't told.

Any idea when the ww2talk withdrawal symptoms will kick in or do we just have a beer now.......?

    Good luck.

So that was the reason I was unable to access the forum .... ! I had begun to wonder if the site had been hacked / sabotaged. At the time this is posted, it seems to me accessing, browsing and posting to the site seems to be taking rather longer than one might expect.

I'm informed there is still work to do, chaps. Repairs are not complete. Very likely to be offline again this weekend I'm afraid.

Thanks for your and Ottos efforts. Seems to be somewhat quicker here. Good luck with any 'works in progress'.

You are probably aware, but I will mention it anyway - my usual shortcut to the forum (www.ww2talk.com/) results in an "SQL Server Error" I can then click "return to index" and arrive at the normal forum opening page.

    Same here, Noel.
It is most certainly 'not right' yet.

I also have the same issue as Noel, but clicking 'return to index' does not always get me back to the forum. More likely that I get the 'SQL Server Error' message again.

Not a whinge, just feedback that I hope is helpful in some way!

    Best,

    Steve.
