Hi Guys found this in the loft I think it is a 1940s extended gas lamp lighter or extended bulb screwer inner and remover. Friends said it is possibly an early mobile loft aerial.
Richard thinks its a swedish bofors gun, often seen in porn mags. Is his imagination running away with him ?
How big is it? It might be a sweetheart Bofors. Very popular. Carved by Pows and sent home to loved ones to use as hair ornaments, loofah holders etc.
Hi Guys Thank you for your replies most helpful. You are so kind. I managed to find a booklet very well worn which might be instructions. I cant read anything of note from it This photo appears to show it (plus gives a bit of scale) however my only worry it doesnt have the mobile pram wheels. I think one of the chaps has a packet of bayonet bulbs which he is unwrapping or could be netting to use as a spider catcher. The feet do show some form of whittling so really it is a mystery.
Next series of "Grand Designs". Kevin McCloud: "So you are going to raise your roof by 30 feet, install a 20 foot wide loft hatch and, a reinforced steel floor and a 2.5 metric ton winch" "That's some loft conversion. But what on earth are you going to put up there?"
Funnily enough, logistical reasons, the price of cranes, transport etc. is the only reason I don't have a Bofors on the garage roof. The gun was stupidly cheap. Got quite excited. The rest was about ten times as much again. Bugger.
"A Bofors a day keeps the drones away". 2025 advertising spiel. You saw it here first Kind regards, and Hereford's finest cider, always, Jim.
