This was the Command ship for Gold Beach, anchored off the coast. The Father of a good friend of mine (John Budd from Rye in West Sussex. Recently passed away), served on HMS Bulolo and then later went to HMS Belfast. I've always wanted to post about casualties sustained on 7 June 1944. I now have enough information.

They are now commemorated on the Normandy Memorial and buried at sea, close to where they lost their lives.

I think my Dad was on this ship.
    Thank God he survived.

    Thanks Buteman for the information.
Dad never told us much about his service. Except that he worked in communications, receiving and transferring messages.
    This has really shocked me.

I have a copy of the HMS Bulols's ships signal War Diary, January to September. I'm not surprised he never talked about his service. A top secret posting indeed.

Here is one page, 24 May 1944 in particular. See who is on board.

I'm trying to identify the HMS ship/funeral party who collected the 4 casualties from HMS Bulolo. Any thoughts?

This image is from the HMS Bulolo's ship log:-

Phantom used Bulolo as their main detachment for Husky.

Do you have the WD for Husky Buteman ?

    Thanks

Is the Bulolo ship log available online. I am mainly interested in D Day.

Among other operations HMS Bulolo was involved in Torch and Husky, there are some fairly detailed accounts in these documents.

London Gazette – World War 2 despatches

38569 The landings in North Africa
    38895 The invasion of Sicily

As you will see the despatches contain a wealth of information on a multitude of WW2 subjects.
