    Now that we are at it...

    Madamina, il catalogo è questo
    Delle belle che amò il padron mio;
    un catalogo egli è che ho fatt'io;
    Osservate, leggete con me.
    In Italia seicento e quaranta;
    In Almagna duecento e trentuna;
    Cento in Francia, in Turchia novantuna;
    Ma in Ispagna son già mille e tre.
    V'han fra queste contadine,
    Cameriere, cittadine,
    V'han contesse, baronesse,
    Marchesine, principesse.
    E v'han donne d'ogni grado,
    D'ogni forma, d'ogni età.
    Nella bionda egli ha l'usanza
    Di lodar la gentilezza,
    Nella bruna la costanza,
    Nella bianca la dolcezza.
    Vuol d'inverno la grassotta,
    Vuol d'estate la magrotta;
    È la grande maestosa,
    La piccina e ognor vezzosa.
    Delle vecchie fa conquista
    Pel piacer di porle in lista;
    Sua passion predominante
    È la giovin principiante.
    Non si picca - se sia ricca,
    Se sia brutta, se sia bella;
    Purché porti la gonnella,
    Voi sapete quel che fa.

    Oh yeah?!?

    Ah, le Za contraire, Cela ne semble aucun raisonnable ! Je n'ai aucune idée ce que cela est censée pour signifier, Madamina, le catalogue est ceci de le beau qui a aimé le mien de padron ; un catalogue il est que j'ai fatt' ; I ; Observé, vous avez lu avec moi. En Italie six cents et quarante ; Dans Almagna deux cents et trentuna ; Centaines novantuna en France, Turquie ; Mais dans d'Ispagna de fils des milliers et trois déjà. V' ; han entre ces paysans, serveur, citoyens, V' ; contesse de han, baronnes, Marchesine, princes. Et v' ; femmes d' de han ; chaque degré, D' ; chaque forme, d' ; chaque âge. Dans la femme blonde il a l' ; coutume pour féliciter le gentility, dans la couleur fauve Costanza, dans le femme blanc le dolcezza. Il veut d' ; hiver le grassotta, il veut d' ; été le magrotta ; Il est grand le majestueux, le piccina de vezzosa et ognor. De il y a le pel de conquête à faire appel à du porle dans la liste ; Prédominant sa passion c'est le principiante de giovin. Pas picca - si ou riche, si ou laid, si ou beau ; À condition que vous portiez le gonnella, vous sapete ceux il y a lesquels. Je veux dire AVANCÉ ! ! ! Ha !!!

    Did the French drop anything in Gulf War 1990/1991 ?
    Thought they did rather well in fact.

    Oddly enough the only French Troops I ran into were the French Foreign Legion during GW1. Ironicaly only Staff Level Officers are French in the Legion.

    Verdun was a different France.

    It was a bad joke referring to an even older joke that described WW2 surplus French Rifles as being: "Never fired and only dropped once"

    I miss urqh

    I read recently a joke from WW2 from a Frenchman's war memoirs,

    "What's the fastest thing on two wheels?"
    " A Frenchman on a push-bike going past a recruiting office."

    Here, Juggy! Opération Daguet - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    France

    The second largest European contingent was from France, with 18,000 troops.[5] Operating on the left flank of the U.S. XVIII Airborne Corps, the main French army force was the 6th Light Armoured Division, including troops from the French Foreign Legion. Initially, the French operated independently under national command and control, but coordinated closely with the Americans, Saudis and CENTCOM. In January, the Division was placed under the tactical control of the U.S. XVIII Airborne Corps. France also deployed combat aircraft and naval units. The French called their contribution Opération Daguet.
    Look up the map in the link at top. There they are, the Froggies, on the left flank covering everybody. No dubyaesque Freedom Fries bullshit back then.

    Jess, you may stop suffering, here are the lyrics for the Aria Del Catalogo, fom Mozart's Don Giovanni, bilingual Italian-English.

    Tu dois manger de la bouillabaise pendant quelques vingt ou trente ans encore pour en être digne d'approcher l'ombre de mes bottes encore :lol:
