The French 2nd Armored Division (2e Division Blindée) was commanded by the capable Phillipe Leclerc. It began disembarking in Normandy on August 1 and went on to reduce the Falaise Pocket and liberate Paris.

I am thrilled to have finally put my hands on a summary of the unit's movements from "Les Grandes Unités Françaises: Historiques Succincts", and have now included them in the Battle of Normandy, 1944 project at VirtualHistoryProject.com. This includes the independent movements of the division's tactical groups (Groupement Tactique DIO, Groupement Tactique LANGLADE, and Groupement Tactique V)

One can access the animation directly here.
