Is there any evidence of ethnic cleansing of Germans prior to that Sept 1939 invasion of Poland? That's the claim made
by a video, Justice for Germans. There material does not seem very well done. So, I'm very sceptical of their claims. Some
did take place towards the end of WW2 and after it ended. But, did it happen before the war started? Claim of 58,000 Germans murdered.jpg

As you mentioned, the wording does raise a few flags. The following source might explain where the figure came from,

I believe following the end of World War 1 there were tensions between Germans and Poles in areas like Danzig but I don't know if these tensions ever got violent. Other members may know more about it than I do.

It was one of the claims of Hitler that ethnic Germans living in Poland were being maltreated by the Poles and one of the reasons he chose to invade....the Polish Question.

I remember a recent article authored by an American who defended Hitler's invasion, citing the maltreatment of ethnic Germans.Unfortunately I lost the bookmark when changing ISPs. No doubt there was some resentment to Germans living in Poland but the main thrust of the article could be construed as propaganda. Then the SD staged the frontier incident to fabricate an excuse for invading Poland.Interestingly,of late, there has been some disagreement between the Poles and Germans still living in the new western Poland who were intent on erecting memorials to German units.....some incidents have resulted in the memorials being destroyed.

Hitler's intentions were clear towards Poland when he came to power...his reference to the Polish state was "the bastards of Versailles" .Britain and France underwrote Polish security by the well known guarantee of an independent Polish state,,,a promise in the end which could not be delivered and was difficult to discharge due to Stalin's foreign policy which was rolled out as the Second World War started...Poland then became a satellite of the S.U.

Hitler took the Sudetenland in 1938,with the agreement of Britain and France, with the same approach "to safeguard the German citizens" living in the Sudetenland who he alleged were the subject of maltreatment from the Czech government.

Part of the trouble was/is that the borders of Poland have changed so many times over the centuries. There would be millions of ethnic germans, czechks and russians living on the boundaries of each country. And it was a time when racial purity was a big issue.
The top map on this link shows the changes (click on the map.)

And Hitler was looking for any excuse to invade.

Today I see that the UKIP Assistant Treasurer has stated that Hitler's invasion of Poland was due to "Polish aggression".

Slightly off thread but the earliest known Jewish military European unit was a Polish regiment raised in the defence of Warsaw against Napoleon!

I have a photo album from a German soldier during WWII. It had a photos showing some burnt bodies behind a house and was titled "Murdered German People". To determine if the caption is true, would be hard to prove.

Warhog that photo is probably murdered jews or poles.

    Like bernard85 i couldnt give a toss.

Regardless of whether any germans were killed, hitler wouldve started war and if there was any actual proof they surely wouldnt go to all the trouble with the story of poles attacking germans at a radio station as a pretext to start war. (Didnt they hope they would be on air as the "polish attack" took place though it didnt go to plan, the germans still used that excuse)

Had germans been killed in any number by poles before WWII hitler would rub his hands in glee.

This story is ludicrous and i sincerley hope most germans do not hold this view.
