I know i heard it all over the news. I think they may have a point, but i guess theres no difference with re enacting a WW2 battle in a game than a fictional one?? I dunno. They could have asked.
Come on, it's a game. Yeah, I see where they're coming from, but I think they're asking too much. Yeah, fair enough, ask them to remove the cathedral interior ( pretty hard as it's already been released), but asking them to donate to their education dept, and to support groups fighting against gun crime? I dunno, I just think they're taking it too far.
This is overkill. If this gets passed then any war film or 18s film with familiar locations is open to legal actions. Ridiculous!
Rarely do I agree with the C of E or any other 'ban it' type balls but if it's a building you hold dear to your own faith then on this occasion I can understand it being somewhat upsetting. But hey, Sony's not stupid... and a few days of having a game promoted on national news can do sales wonders even for complete turkeys.
My mates got a PS3 but I've only played the demo on it. Pretty good from what I've seen. I think it's set in WW2 era but you're an American fighting along side the Germans??? to kill off the invading Aliens. I think. At least that's what the level I was playing was about.
its ww2 related isnt it. something about uncle Jo gets taken over by 4 eyed aliens, unknown to the west. The germans say hey look the russians are aliens but the allies take no notice germany loses and the aliens carry on past berlin, all the wayto manchester by all accounts.
I posted the above. But it didn't show as a new post on my puter. Even though it said the thread was last updated by me, at the time I posted the thread.
Okay, was willing to give Sony the benefit of the doubt until i saw North West Tonight who showed some of the footage. Sony have gone Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to far! Would Sony be allowed to do the same in a mosque? I seem to recall some thing of that ilk a few years ago and the game had to be withdrawn. Was it one of the Rainbow 6 games or whatever it's called? So why should the fact it's in a CofE cathedral make a damn bit of difference? Sony did not ask permission, they have used a cathedral that is sacred ground for a shoot 'em up. Damn right the CofE should demand a grovelling apology and a LOT of money.
