Hello there, Hoping someone may be able to assist with any suggestions regarding some details on a copy of a page from my late grandfather's army service record which I recently received. The information I'm looking for is in relation to the postings column on the record sheet, so far I believe the first two entries refer to General Service Corps, No.72 Primary Training Wing at Budbrooke Barracks, Warwick, 54th Training Regiment Royal Armoured Corps, Deerbolt Camp, Barnard Castle. He was then transferred to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps (other record sheets also indicate this) but the details I'm seeking refers to 'No.1 C&S School' (?) 'D&H Unit Draft' (?) and 'RSBVR' (?) - presumably relating to the RAOC - he then embarked for West Africa where he spent 4 months before returning home to the UK due to illness with chronic pulmonary TB. I have looked through the lists of military abbreviations but couldn't find anything which would seem to fit.
Are you able to upload som other pages from his service records? It's always easier to have multiple entries of the same information to compare because different abbreviations for the same things appear frequently. 'Army Form B103: Service And Casualty Form' is the best place to start.

I found the old tin containing various small items which belonged to my late grandfather, within the Skill At Arms Record Book was part of an old 'Craven' cigarette packet and written on the reverse were some additional details.

You've probably found this out, but Proteus Camp was in Sherwood Forest. Proteus Training Camp - Neolithicsea.co.uk
Hi, The camp was still operational in 1985 as a summer TA facility I was told at the time. It wasn’t suitable for winter use apparently but I spent a cold week there in January 1985 during the 1984/85 miners strike. There was thick snow on the ground at the time - like in the gallery photo - and the accommodation was decidedly of the 1940/50’s army camp vintage with a coke fired belly stove and unheated ablutions.
