Does anyone have more information on 55 G.C.U. and their work?

I found a reference to this unit in the local archives. They were responsible for the burial end reburial of the fallen soldiers in the region of Valkenswaard Holland. I am very interested if there are any files of their work in this area.

    Any help is welcome.

There's a war diary for them from 1946:

WO 171/10996, 55 Graves Conc. Unit

    Thanks.

Any idea how to find out if there is information in there for the Valkenswaard region?

The diary should list their location and what areas they were working in. I do not recall ever looking at a Grave Concentration Unit diary before so have no idea what sort of information is typically recorded in them though.

I found these references to the creation of the Valkswaard Cemetery which might be of interest. It seems that it was created in the period late December 1944 to mid January 1945
