I’m starting a new thread on the 40th General Hospital that was based in Le Vésinet, France, from 1944. There is another thread that refers to the 40th GH, however, it is combined with information about other units so I thought it would be useful to start a new one dedicated specifically to the 40th GH.

I have recently obtained several photos and documents pertaining to my grandfather’s service as a medical officer at the 40th GH that I can share here and will post to my Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/40thGH/) dedicated to the 40th GH that I started yesterday as a way to be in touch with relatives of men and women who served with the 40th GH. My goal is to document the unit history of the 40th GH and I am in touch with the U.S. National Archives to obtain copies of records and other documents that I will share after I receive them.

The WW2 US Medical Research Centre (Unit Histories | WW2 US Medical Research Centre) is doing a great job at documenting unit histories and I hope that this thread and my research will be of use to them.

Please share any information that you may have on the 40th GH and I will continue to update this thread as I obtain more information.

Hello, today I received photographs of an album produced by the 40th General Hospital that has pictures of the personnel and exterior and interior shots of the hospital 72 Avenue de la Princesse, 78110 Le Vésinet, France. My member photo is of the cover of the album. I have posted the complete album at the Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/40thGH/) I created to honor the men and women who served there. It's a closed group so please send me a request to join it if you would like to contribute to the discussion.
