Does anyone know when this unit, which fought with the 50th Infantry Division, arrived in North Africa please?
1st Greek Infantry Brigade- The brigade arrived in Egypt on 15/8/42 from Palestine and remained until 1/1/43, when it moved to Syria. This Brigade included 1st Greek Field Artillery Regiment 2nd Greek Infantry Brigade- It was formed in the Delta, Egypt on 27/7/42 and remained on garrison in Egypt until 1/12/42, when it moved to Syria.
Thanks David. That's interesting because I had always thought the the artillery regiment was present in theatre some time before the infantry component of the brigade?
