glosterman and any one else researching War Memorials:
On 19th July you put up the Bromborough War Memorial Names. That had some references that you could not trace CWGC entries for several King family Names.
I have used Geoff's Search Engine very successfully for additional Names on various War Memorials and Rolls of Honour for various West London districts.
I did so for Bromborough and got back 42 hits. On cross checking with the Bromborough List, the following appear to be additional residents not included on the War Memorial. It also reveals what the Kings may be recorded under, and it appears that at least one is in your local church yard!
These are additional details, which someone in Bromborough may wish to follow up on.

I hope this helps others to use Geoff's Search Engine for both WW1 and WW2 tracing for locality. Obviously, it only shows those who put their NoK address on their records!

I've checked the website and I see that two Names from WW1 need clarification.
    I think one is:
    Name: MacLULLICH, ALEXANDER. Rank: Private
Regiment/Service: 210th Coy. Machine Gun Corps (Infantry)
Age: 24. Date of Death: 30/11/1917
    Service No: 56739
Additional information: Son of Alexander and Mary MacLullich, of The Lawn Cottage, Raby Drive, Bromborough, Cheshire.
Grave/Memorial Reference: Q. 6. Cemetery: JERUSALEM WAR CEMETERY, Israel
    and the other:
Name: HUGHES, JOHN WILLIAM. Rank: Rifleman
    Regiment/Service: 3rd Bn. King's Royal Rifle Corps
Age: 24. Date of Death: 22/05/1917
    Service No: 9055
Additional information: Son of Joseph and Elizabeth Hughes, of Bromborough, Cheshire.
Grave/Memorial Reference: 17. Cemetery: MIKRA BRITISH CEMETERY, KALAMARIA.
    Hope that helps!
PS: I've got 35 Names and War Memorial 28...... do you want the Additionals here? (not WW2)

Thanks for that tip had a go at another memorial and it is helping does cut down the work until you get one, as you stated with no parents etc. then it's a brickwall for a while. The down side is quite a lot of them did not originally come from that region and some will have parents etc in the record.

    regards
    GM
