Philip asked me about places to see in Denmark concerning WW2, so I thought I'd create a small list which could be inspiration for others who'd might venture to Denmark some time in the future. Apart from the museums listed below, the entire north and west coast of Jutland is crawling with bunkers. So if you're into concrete emplacements, grab a flashlight and start exploring.

    Atlantic Wall museums

    Silkeborg Bunkermuseum
    Gjessøvej 40d | 8600 Silkeborg
    Telefon: +45 86 81 38 85

Every year on the 19th of May there is a fairly large re-enactment gathering with all sorts vehicles related.

    Bunkermuseet Hirtshals
    Kystvejen | 9850 Hirtshals

    An open air bunkermuseum

    MuseumsCenter Hanstholm

Probably the best Atlantic wall related museum in Denmark. A museum in a hugely restored 38 cm gun battery. Do visit the battery which has not been restored a few kilometers away as well, but remember the flash light!

    Bangsbo Fort Bunkermuseum
    Understedvej 21 | 9900 Frederikshavn
    Telefon: +45 98 42 31 11

A pioneer among Danish museums concerning WW2 research. The exhibit and the bunkers are located a two different places. The exhibit at the museum covers the resistance movements during the war and from here on you can drive to the bunkers where there’s also a few displays in some of the bunkers.

    Skagen Bunkermuseum
    Fyrvej 39 | 9990 Skagen
    Telefon: +45 98 44 40 40
    www.skagen-bunkermuseum.dk
A small display inside a hospital bunker. But the surrounding bunkers along the north coast are well worth a visit.

    Tirpitz-stillingen
Tane Hedevej, 6857 Blåvand (West coast of Jutland)

    Museums concerning resistance movements

    Frihedsmuseet
    Churchillparken 7 | 1263 København K.
    Telefon: +45 33 47 39 21
    www.natmus.dk
In my opinion the best and most informative museum regarding the resistance movements in Denmark during the war.

    Besættelsesmuseet i Århus
    Mathilde Fibigers Have 2 | 8000 Århus C.
    Telefon: +45 86 18 42 77

    Frihedsmuseet i Skanderborg
    Kindlersvej 6 | 8660 Skanderborg
    Telefon: +45 86 51 02 27
    www.skanderborgfrihedsmuseum.dk
    A small display about WW2

    Mindelunden
    Tuborgvej 33 | 2900 Hellerup
    Telefon: +45 39 62 14 67
    www.mindelundenryvangen.dk

This was the location where all of the freedom fighters were executed in Copenhagen. It’s a park area with lots of memorials. Some of the perhaps most famous groups who are remembered here are The Hvidsten Group, members of Holger Danske, as well as ‘Flame and Citron’.

    KZ camp museums

    Frøslevlejrens Museum
    Lejrvej 83 | 6330 Padborg
    Telefon: +45 74 67 65 57

It's pretty high here as well. It's usually around 1.60 euro a litre - but some days it can be around 1.70. It's normally the same prices at motorways as in the cities, depending on what service station it is :)
