According to the card, Anton worked in a roller mill in Traunstein before the war. He was killed in action during heavy fighting in Mecklenburg (West Pomerania) on April 30th 1945, a week before the Germans surrendered. He was 33. He was killed on the same day that Hitler committed suicide in his Führerbunker.

I can think of a forum member who has a lot of them. His name is Gary Tankard. Surprised he has not come across your thread.

He will do in time. I picked him up in a car (being his taxi driver) after he spent quite a few hours taking around two hundred headstones in the German Cemetery that is in Cassino.

Edit. He probably spent around nearer fours hours in total in taking all of them over two days. Never mind the time he spent in the time to walk to the cemetery from the hotel.
    Dedication.

I finally found the Cemetery after a while. His phone was running low on charge..

    A memorable day.:)
