Wolfgang "Wulf" Schmidt was a Dane, born in Aabensraa 7 November 1911. He was dropped by parachute in England 19 September 1940 as an agent for Abwehr. He was soon caught in Old Willingham, and later enrolled as a double agent witk the covername TATE. He worked during the whole war and did very important desinformation-work for Britain.
Some books (but surprisingly few) deal with him. We are doing research on this remarkable man.

Is there anyone who have informations about him??

Hello and welcome to the forum...I suspect The National Archives at Kew would be your best bet for the facts.

    The National Archives

    Good luck

Yes, there are files on him in the National Archive of course.
I had some hope that maybe someone knew someone who knew someone who had some story about him

Schmidt was one of the "lucky" German agents parachuted into England to work for German intelligence.I say "lucky" because his life was saved when he was successfully turned by the XX Committee and used as a double agent and conduit to feed the Germans with false information.

He went on to settle and work in Britain under a provided name of Harry Williamson. He died a few years ago after living postwar in Watford.
