I am fishing for information about the Forte Naval Base in Falmouth. During May through November 1943 my aunt's service record shows her at Forte, yet she was actually on St. Mary's in the Scillies. Any insights are welcome. (I know about the motor launch aspect in Falmouth.)

    Hello David

do you have the context of the service records that you could post?

Thank you, Clive. Here goes (from Navy Search, TNT Records Management at Swadlincote): HMS Forte -- Wren -- 11 May 1943, 22 Nov 1943. A clarifying statement underneath ship/shore establishment Forte reads, "Within the ledger of HMS Forte Scillies 13/11am is recorded but with no dates." I hope this helps.
