World at War TV series

As I recall, many of the German veterans interviewed were angry too, and completely unrepentant.

 

Clark was very brave (Operation Flagpole) but was super ambitious about career advancement, in my opinion. When he graduated from West Point he had to indicate his religion and selected Episcopalian because he had found out that was what the majority of generals were. A real politician and polar opposite of Eisenhower.

I remember World at War asking two British pilots how they felt about enemy flyers. The first guy went all chummy and went on about having a lot in common with them, saw only the plane and not the man, nothing personal, etc etc. The second guy said, "I hated them! I wanted to kill them! They wanted to enslave us!"
